Underwriting process
Following an extensive analysis of each business loan request, CU Strategic Services delivers an overall recommendation for your Credit Union's approval that includes: Borrower history, structure of the facility, source and use of funds, detailed collateral analysis, environmental analysis, and financial analysis of all guarantors.
Once the loan is approved by your Credit Union, we will provide a commitment letter to the borrower, engage/review appraisals and environmental reports, prepare all loan documents, and coordinate/review all third-party reports. At this time, we will recommend other business services to the borrowers, provided by your Credit Union or our CUSO relationships.
The loan closing process will allow CU Strategic Services to book the loan on our servicing system, review all closing documents and check compliance, set up payment collection and billing, set up insurance tracking, and set up financial tracking for your Credit Union.

Application process
CU Strategic Services can work directly with your business development team to help manage the application process for you. We will be available to accept applications and provide the borrower with a document checklist necessary to process the application efficiently and in a timely manner.
Approval process
Loan participations can be a strategic way for Credit Unions to improve their loan-to- share ratio, increase their return on assets, and diversify their portfolio. The loan participation market can be useful as an investment opportunity or to improve liquidity.
Whatever your reason to pursue loan participations, due diligence is imperative to manage the process and mitigate risk. As such, CU Strategic Services offers a business-ready, start-up package that allows Credit Unions to enter the business participation marketplace quickly, efficiently, and successfully.
We also offer assistance in developing policies and procedures for underwriting services that meet current best practices and regulatory requirements.
OUR STRATEGIC APPROACH FOR BRINGING
COMMERCIAL LOANS TO YOUR CREDIT UNION
CU Strategic Services also provides ongoing support for each business service offered. Our team will collect monthly loan payments, remit payments to the Credit Union, monitor each client's loan portfolio, provide monthly exception reports, perform an annual review on each relationship, and provide additional monthly reports as requested by the Credit Union.
